Definitely one of my favorite places to go for Sushi in Southern Maine. I haven't tried the Thai food but i am about to right now... great please to go, excellent choice of sushi and willingness to make whatever you want.
My Absolute FAVORITE restaurant in the Area: I have lived in Saco for 25yrs. and this is always my first choice restaurant when going out for dinner. Their CRAB RANGOONS are the most amazing things I have ever tasted. Super quick service and a huge sushi menu are also pluses!!
Rarely have I had bad Thai food, but . . .: Thai Siam stinks. We visited the first time a few weeks after they opened. Decided to see what they were all about, so we both ordered different specialty stir-fries rather than the usual Pad Thai or Curries. The vegetables were way undercooked (not crisp-tender, but raw) and the flavors were off. The waiter was very confused. We chalked it up to them still getting their act together after just opening.
Revisited last summer and was not any more impressed than before. This time I did order the Pad Thai. Even mediocre Pad Thai is palatable, but the noodles in this dish were gummy, and there was way too much sugar in the sauce. My daughter, who usually loves everything ethnic, didn't care for her noodle stir-fry either. We had some sort of "Thai crab rangoon" appetizer, which was basically the usual with some curry paste mixed in the cream cheese. Not a good combination.
Try the new Vietnamese place down the road instead.
