Living in the area, I have been here at least 9 times and the food as always, always been great. But WOW! I was there 20090704. We were seated. Placed our orders, no problem. We received our cups of soup but I like to have Tabasco sauce with mine, I immediately made my request. I waited and waited. The main course came and that's when we saw our waitress again. She forgot. No problem, it happens. I had order my prime rib medium, always a wonderful choice . . . but not this time. The waitress forgot my steak knife and said she'd be right back. She went straight from my table to the next to take their order. After about 5 minutes or so she left their table and disappeared in to the kitchen. I waited a bit and asked another waitress for a steak knife. I didn't want my prime rib to get even colder. That's when I realized the prime rib came well done and tougher than leather. I stopped and waited for the waitress to show. Another 5 minutes she did and with my steak knife and our check. ??? I told her about my plate and she disappeared again. Now my daughter starts to eat her meal, she had the fried haddock. Right away after her first bite she excused herself to the bathroom. She had started to react to the oil the fish was fried in, she's allergic to shell fish and they must have used the same oil they fry shrimp in. I remember Chef Ramsey yell at one of the chefs on his show for doing that. We were very upset and rushed out. I paid the $105.00 for 3 adults and 1 child ( no alcholic drinks ) with a $5 dollar tip which should have been none. I will never return, very unfortunate.

We have had the great fortune of being able to vacation in Maine for the past 9 summers and will be heading out again this year! We eat at the Captain's Galley every year. We always get fantastic meals. The service is great, the atmosphere is always welcoming. The price is right as well, you can get an awsome upscale meal in a casual restaurant for a very affordable price. We will for sure be stopping again this year!

This is the place where you'll find the best baked stuffed haddock! I try them just about everywhere we go and this is the one to beat. Yum :)
