Don't waste your money...there are dozens of better places in Portland in this pricerange. Service, consistency, decor, ambiance, menu.....all lacking. I'm local, I know good food, I eat in all the Portland restaurants...trust me.

Restaurant is under new management and has lost all the charm of previous owners. Food was expensive, uninspired, and without nuance. Beware for those watching sodium intake. Service was painfully slow. Had to ask to have water glass refilled - twice - even though our table was extremely visible to both waiters, bartenders, and hostess. Tonight was out last trip to Katahdin.

a local's favorite: Whether you are hankering for an awesome seafood dish, lots of creative fresh veggie dishes or a perfect martini, you just can't go wrong with Kathadin. The menu is eclectic with a wide assortment of dishes from gourmet to comfort food - for example they have best pot roast I've ever had - better than grandma's! Melts in your mouth. In late spring you can expect delicious fiddle heads for those looking for a true Maine treat. Kathadin is also famous for having the best martinis in Maine. The atmosphere is a bit retro and funky - each table has an assortment of vintage chairs. Highly recommended!
