THE OWNER OF THIS RESTAURANT SHOULD TAKE A LONG VACATION - HIS BLUNT ARROGANCE TOWARDS HIS CUSTOMERS IS NOTHING LESS THAN REPLUSIVE -
I grew up in the Bangor area, and I have never seen the appeal of Captain Nick's nor understood it's longevity. The menu is small, with boiled lobster and chowder being very overpriced. None of the side dishes are anything special, with iceburg lettuce and a few crutons for a salad. The interior is drab and I've only ever seen a handful of customers at one time. Unfortunately, nothing special.
Just got back from dinner at Captain Nick's. Good service, a friendly waitress, and excellent food. The side salad was average, and the blue cheese dressing ok, but not exceptional. Also my baked potato was so-so. But the haddock chowder and the lobster were as good as any anywhere, with the lobster sweet and cooked to perfection.
