I went to Computer Essentials over across from Toys R'Us at the Bangor Mall. Just stopping by to look at the merchandise because I needed my computer fixed and they are the only ones who can be honest, and know what they are doing over there. Every other box store charges outragous fees, and on idiots work there. But after speaking with them, they all showed a level of intelligence that couldn't be matched by any of the box stores... A++!!!

After the hard drive on my MacBook Pro conked out, I came by to see if I could start the computer from an installation CD. Computer Essentials was kind enough to let me do this -- but then the CD got stuck inside. Even though it was only a copy of the disk, and even though I could have just mailed it to them after the computer was repaired, the manager took it out back and pried the machine open to get the disk.

He ended up warping the case -- and now Apple tells me that if they replace the hard drive, they might have to replace the case, too, because it won't fit right. That's over $1000 in damages. At this point I'm going to get a new laptop anyways rather than pay for hard drive repair, which is nearly as expensive, but that's not the point: they did serious physical damage to the computer, and for no good reason at all. I wouldn't trust them again with a popcorn maker, much less a computer.
