I have owned 3 vehicles that I have purchase from Downeast Toyota one Corolla and 2 Camry's. One does happen to be a 2007 and I have not had any problems with it. I also have my vehicles serviced here and have always been treated as a valued customer from sales, service, and parts. I find it hard to believe that anyone has been treated the way this person said that they were. I to have had a few problems come up that I have questioned and I have always been treated with respect and a quick resolve.
Purchased 2007 toyota camry on saturday, by monday noticed car's transmission downshifting, while trying to pick up speed, and bad hesatation problems I called downeast toyota service dept. asked about problems. I was told to drive for one week so car can get use to my driving habbits. so dumb me fell for it. Eleven days later i can not stand car!!!! I call downeast toyota service dept again this time a diffrent story, this time person on phone tells me that "at this time all complaints are normal" so i ask what i was told 9 days ago about car learning driving habbits? well person on phone just laughed and said well.... sometimes this is true. but not to worry because like the v 6 camrys they pulled all of lot for transmission problems, when and if toyota comes up with a fix they will let me know. I was than transfered to sales dept, I talked to salesman that sold me camry, about problems i am having he didn't say much but offered me to come in and drive another camry to see it does same thing, I said no thank-you but I will come in after work and get my 05 buick that i traded in 11 days ago. salesman said no problem. I got at downeast toyota at 6:00, he greeted us at door and smiled and said that it was funny, the saturday we got our camry he sold 3 and 2 have come back. well at paper work signing, I found i will be loosing the 5000.00 i put down and owe 2000.00 more on buick than i did 11 days ago, needless to say i was surprised. This is not right, a problem toyota is but is not admitting to. cost me about 5000.00. I ended up buying my buick back, and am so happy to not be a toyota camry owner any more, and never again. purchased alot of cars from det but, this one is the last! called Ed Darling several times to ask why I lost soooooo much money, but he will not return phone calls. when I got home i went on line and looked at the 2007 camry complaints, well.... lets just say I guess i am not the only one with these complaints. toyota moving forward????????
