Is any food worth an hour's wait? Arguably, the lobstah rolls, crabmeat rolls and fried clams at Red's are worth both the time you take to get there and the time you wait in line. The portions are ridiculously generous and they ain't kidding when they slap all the meat of a tasty cherry lobstah in one hot dog roll. The best fried clams I ever had in my LIFE were at Red's.
Say hi to Red's daughter when you're up theah!
Red's Eats will spoil your lobster eating experience for the rest of your life because there is no other place that can beat them. Red's Eats really is one of a kind and definitely worth the wait. I can't believe that people complain about the lobster meat being cold...IT'S SUPPOSE TO BE!! You can't say that you have had a true Maine experience if you have not visited the legendary Red's. It really is true what they say, Red's is the best. Just ask Martha Stewart.
I see a lot of folks have written reviews involving the long wait they had to endure. Red's Eats has good food, but let's face it, there really isn't any food in the whole world that is worth waiting in line for, for an hour...lol. If you happen to be driving through Wiscasset and there is not much of a line, stop in, the food is quite good. Typical Maine fried food fare, but very tasty. I love their dough boys, and fried zuchini. The owner of this establishment, Al, just passed away, the town has lost an icon and a friend.
