If you're a dog owner, Spruce Ridge is a good place to stay. They are dog friendly. The owners have a few dogs themselves and live on property. It's off route 1 enough that you really cannot hear traffic. Current owners bought the place about a year ago and apparently from what they tell me this place was severly dated and needed a lot of updated. They've made a lot of progress on the property and have many projects under way. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. There are really no extra ammentities available though, no pool, no game room, no vending machines, etc...Maybe not the best place for kids or teens. This is a great place if you need a clean, comfortable place to bunk for a night or two. It didn't seem to be booked up when we were there Sunday - Monday. Their web site mentions a lobster bake everyday under their tent. We did not see a tent or any offerings of a lobster bake. So maybe it's something you need to inquire about in advance if you are looking to do that here. They do have grills at the property and you're welcome to use them per the owners. We would stay here again since it was a good place to stay with our dog.
