My husband and I eat here all of the time! The food is excellent and there is always something new to try, which we love! Great atmosphere, great service and Great Food!!! We frequent this restaurant weekly!!
My wife and I were travelling back to NY from VT and came across Carmody's. The outside of the building is deceiving. What we found was a "gem" of a restaurant. All of the food items we had were exceptional, especially the 'sweet' fries and the deep fried oreos (yum-mo!). We plan to visit often and highly recommended the restaurant.
Food was very good, decent portions, although we asked for things like no tomatoes on the sandwiches and got them anyway. The service on the other hand, almost non-existent. Our server brought our menus, we waited almost 10 min before she came to check on us, we put the order in, waited close to 40 min for the food. She never came to say things like "the kitchen's busy, your order ashould be out soon", Nothing. Our server gave us our drinks in the meantime. She finally brought the food, and that was the last we saw of her. She never asked if everything's all right, asked if we needed refills (we did)but she was serving the tables next to us and behind us. We kept trying to get her attention, "Excuse me miss", raising our hands, nothing, no eye contact. We finished our meals. We sat for a bit and she finally came over to collect our plates. We asked for another soda, and reviewed the bill. Something was charged twice, we asked her to remove it, she did no problem. We still felt she gave us bad service by ignoring us while we were patrons. So we showed her with the tip we left. We did leave a tip, not a great one, but one she should have understood. We left the restaurant, we must of been 5 or 6 stores down and she came running after us and threw my change at me and told me to keep it. I tried to explain the tip left she yelled something and stormed off. I was going to follow her back but didn't want to make a scene in the restaurant. I would go back to eat there, but she would have to be gone. She should not be in a customer service setting if she's not going to provide it. A tip is something you earn. Not something expected. I will be sending management a letter also.
