User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsUnfortunately, we only had the opportunity to eat dessert at Sweet Basil during out stay in VT, but the experience was unforgettable! We had the apple, butterscotch cake a la mode...it was the most decadent dessert I've ever had.
The open kitchen makes diners feel a part of the experience, and the laid-back interior suggests that this is a humble, non-assuming type of place. The dishes of food, however, looked beautiful, rich, and healthful. Sweet Basil participates in Vermont's Fresh Network, and the food they serve is always the freshest they can find.
If I am ever lucky enough to go back to Lyndonville, I will definitely have some cash in my wallet (they don't take cards) just for Sweet Basil!-

The food is consistently great at Sweet Basil because the chef is always there and her food is wonderful. Never anyone else there preparing your dinner. We love the quaint atmosphere as well.
