I worked here for years and years and years. I need to tell the doofus who says that the crust is store bought is WRONG and NO the tomatoes are not canned. Yes, sorry but the chocolate milk is made with syrup. It is so rarely ordered that buying it in bottles would cause it to expire .... I don't think your son would appreciate expired milk.
I would NEVER return to this restaurant again. The service was poor, the food is average at best and the prices are high. My husband and I went there at 4:30pm with our two toddlers. We had a J&G veal and Chicken Francaise, each $15.95. We ordered pasta with one meatball for our children which was 6 bucks and a SIDE of broccoli for our toddler was $4.00!!! When the owner or manager asked how the service was at the end of the meal, I told him it was "largely absent" the majority of the meal (as we had to chase her down three times) and he responded: "Hey, where ya gonna find betta?" And he wasn't joking. I'm not either, don't waste your time at J&G's.
My wife, son and I recently decided to try J & G Restaurant because we see that the reviews are good and the parking is always full. While there was not anything terrible about the place we would not go back. All the complaints will seem small but here they are. We were there for dinner on a Saturday at about 6 pm. The service was fair. We asked for ice water which we received a large glass with lemon.- Very nice except the water tasted like metallic tap water. A simple filter would cure this. My son' complained that his chocolate milk was from syrup -- not bottled. We ordered a pizza with artichoke hearts, roasted peppers, tomatoes. The artichoke hearts were pickled which flavored the entire pizza. Jared artichoke hearts in a saline solution would resolve the flavor problem. The roasted peppers were from a jar and the tomatoes were canned. The crust was purchased not home made. A medium pizza was $17+ and was not what I consider "gourmet' as represented. As I said nothing big but I would not return.
