I had a horrible experience here. As my car entered the wash bay, one of the attendants push as hard as he could on my mechanical passenger mirror. I can only describe it as tugging. Before I could put down my window to stop him, he forced it to collapse. When I confronted the manager who was on the drive side at the time, he denied everything. He took it very lightly and even laughed in my face about how upset I was. He refused to accept any responsibility. I showed him the mechanism was broken and he responded with
"how do I know it was not broken when you arrived". I know that car washes sometimes have the reputation of being sketchy, this one is. DO NOT USE THEM. It caused $500 in damages to my brand new (5000 miles) Chevy Tahoe (not a cheap car).
Feel free to email me on this one. I will tell you more.
Ah yes. I am that manager. I remember when the customer pulled in. He was driving a new tahoe hybrid. A really nice truck. I stoped him and greeted him and pushed in his mirror like all others. Then he informed me that they are electric. So he proceded to put in the mirrors using the power switch. The passenger side mirror (which was still out) then went in. He pressed the button again and only the driver side morror went out. I asked him to push the button one more time because the mirrors need to sincronize together, and so he did and the mirrors were fine. Now both of the mirrors were in. He pushed the button again and both went out together. One more time and both went in. All was fine and Hutch proceded to pay. He put up his window and we began to wash his truck.( This all hapening in the matter of one or two minutes). Well while we were washing the truck, Hutch began pushing the mirror button again and again. The mirror worked out of sinc because he would not allow the mirror to fully close and open before pressing the button again and again. So down goes the window and from a nice guy to an angry pouting momas boy he began to complain. I understood why he was angry but he insisted i broke his mirror and he was watching it work right in front of him. He repetedly reminded me "this is a brand new 70,000 dollar truck and we were going to buy him a new one". Of course after about 5 minutes of telling him the mirror is fine( which we had gotten under controll again when i finally convinced him to allow the mirror to fully open and close before pressing the button.) we finaly got him washed and out of our hair. To bad for him that he let the dealership replace that mirror. He could have saved himself 500 dollars if he took his chill pills befor he left the house that day. I feel bad for anyone else in his path.
