The Lion King: Granny and I saw the Lion King on Friday, April 21, 2006. We waited for years to see this musical. Many times we almost gave in and paid for the Broadway Series tickets, but we are faithful to CT and most especially the Bushnell. I have been attending this little theater since I was a child and I make sure to help keep them in business. Yes, I have heard the derisive remarks about how it's not near as good as Broadway, but no one is expecting it to be Broadway. When I attend an event at the Bushnell, I am watching a show in a place I feel most comfortable. That's all I expect ; pure, uncomplicated simplicity.
Comfort.
While granny and I watched the Lion King and oooohed and aaahhed with the rest of the sold out crowd, I was indeed, very comfortable. It would be a mistake for anyone to make any excuse not to attend one of the many events this long-standing institution has to offer. Everyone should make a point to support the arts simply because we all enjoy them.
Theater: I have been to many functions at the Bushnell. Seating is good. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. It is the best theater in this area
