dont be scared going in .. ahahahha not the pretties place but the beer is cold and they have wine .. the appitizers are good the garlic shrimp great .. main dishes inexpensive and you dont leave hungry best deal around and quality .. yummy . reminds me of going over a relatives house on a special occasion .. party in the basement with two ovens going everyone happy and conversations everywhere .

I am reluctant to post this review, as it will serve to increase my wait for a table.

I was raised among the Portuguese in southeastern Massachusetts, and became a fan of the cuisine as a teenager. This restaurant was recommended to me by local Portuguese Americans, who said it is their favorite Portuguese restaurant.

I must say, the Octopus "Pulvo" with the bean and spinach "stuffing" is superb. Ditto for the Pork and Clams, Baccala, and the seafood mix. The flan is equally outstanding. In a word, the food is fantastic!

The money goes into the food, not the decor. Fine with me!!!

Where can you eat food of this quality for less than $40 for two?

This is the best restaurant value in the Hartford area, bar none.

absolutely superb food, prepared with skill. A lot better than the fancy places that charge 3x as much.
