About:Located at the intersections of Routes 44, 169, & 97 The Vanilla Bean Cafe is easy to find. Housed in a restored, early 19th century barn in scenic Pomfret, Connecticut, The Vanilla Bean Cafe is owned and operated by Barry and Brian Jessurun. Our Philosophy is simple: Create a place where we would feel comfortable and serve food that we would want to eat. Homemade soups, sandwiches, and light dinners comprise our basic menu, but daily specials made with creativity, imagination and seasonal ingredients, spice up the menu. Baked goods, such as muffins, bagels, croissants, and cookies, come out of our ovens every morning, not to mention our decadent desserts. Our goal is to serve you good homemade quality food in a comfortable, casual atmosphere. We tell customers "We provide comfort foods in a comfortable place."

    Great food, fun place: The Vanilla Bean Cafe is so well known and so well liked, it is doubtful that I could add any more compliments to the place. It has won awards year after year and is a CT favorite. I do want to say that I love the soups, especially on a cold winter day. The wine list is great and outdoor patio dining is always fun. Changing art adds to the experience. One of those places that is magical in its own way. We travel an hour to eat there at least once a month and in all seasons. Can be crowded in the summer.

    outstanding quality and quantity: creative yet simple dishes prepared from very fresh quality ingredients. exquisite desserts!
