It is the goal of Ted's employees to ensure that customers have the best experience while they are visiting the Storrs Campus. Ted's is currently owned by Ryan McDonald who has helped continue on the great tradition of the bar. With bands, karaoke, theme nights and nightly specials, Ted's has become a hot spot on the UConn campus and continues to be the longest standing bar at the university. McDonald has introduced the "Bionic Beaver" to the bar, which is a popular blue and red pitcher and one of the highlights of the drink menu. But, it is the 16 wide variety of beers on tap that people love most about this bar. Ted's originiated in 1965 by the Nanos Family - most importantly Todd, Elliot and Dean - hence the name Ted's.
