for jewett city, this restaurant is just fine. good enough for something different in the area instead of the usual pizza joint. prime rib is good and i would visit again. breakfast on a sunday morning was very nice and quiet. again....this is jewett city were talking about. it was better than i expected. i would recommend happy's to a friend anytime.

Don't bother - we live in town and have tried Happy's several times, it being one of the few places around that isn't a pizza joint. The food is OK but inconsistent. We've only ever had one competent waitress..the rest are friendly enough but not attentive, even though there are never more than 1/2 dozen tables full. (Plus one wears perfume so strong you can smell her before you see her.) We'd love to see the place succeed but won't bother returning given the above issues.

Ok- every house can have a bad night. Having said that, be warned! we arrived at 6pm on July 5th, their was maybe 8-10 people in the place. I ordered the prime rib- but before that finally got to the table, the warm bottle of beer arrived, and after the less than good salad bar, which we waited for 5 minutes because their was no lettuce! it would have been nice, if the server brought the basket of rolls to have with the salad, but that was not the case. My onion soup finally came, and it was good. Finally, 25 minutes after our salad, the Prime Rib was served. It is supposed to be hot! mine was barely warm, almost cool, with no flavor at all. it was served with my choice of sweet patatoe mash, which was good, and oh my! carrots, brocolli, and cauliflower, two problems with the veggies- they were cold, and they were frozen from a package, terrible!!! If this is what a so called master chef puts out, he needs to go back and be retrained. on a scale of 1- 10- a very weak 1.
