User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI've been going to scissors for years now, and even after I've moved a bit aways my husband and I still come here to get out hair cut. Sometimes they're pretty busy with full schedules, but everyone is super nice and they do a fantastic job. My favorite part is they do wonderful, very up to date cut and color jobs. I've been to probably four separate girls and they all provided modern cuts and gave me a lot of attention. Price are much better compared to swankier places I've been to that do okay jobs.

I have been a patron of this salon, Scissors By Penny, for a few years...maybe 4. When I forget to make an appointment, or just walk in~ they are very accomodating...and friendly as well.. I have NEVER had an issue being a walk in client. I am always treated with respect. I have not waited too long, although when it is a busy time in a salon and you do not make an appt on a busy weekend- what should you expect?? Yet these gals are good and they go above and beyond to make you feel at home~ a New Haven style salon in the Valley: who can ask for more?? Color, cut, up-do's and more...I reccomend Scissors to all my friends on the shoreline area and everywhere in between. Reasonable at cost, nice atmosphere...always a pleasure.. I give Scissors a 5 star rating....they are a gem hidden in the Valley...worth the drive for me.
User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsmy wife and i walked into scissors today, feb 9, 2008 around 1:30 pm. i have had my hair cut there before with okay results, but stood there for 20 minutes before i was told that there would be no walkins taken before 4:00 or 4:30 pm. All this despite the fact that there were only two people sitting and waiting, and they came in after us. we couldnt believe a three hour wait for walk ins with no one in the shop. just absolutely incredible! business must be good. we will not be back for any services at this salon. ever.
