User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsMy wife and I dine at Assaggio every Saturday night. We love the place, but I never reviewed any restaurant until my grandson encouraged me to do so. We talk about Assaggio for days after our dinner! If the crab sauce is on the menu, I highly recommend it. The flavor is just like the flavor of my late motherâs Christmas Eve sauce, but better because they have crab meat already picked out and piled on top. My wife is always on a diet so she asks for chicken francaise over spinach made with very little oil. They are great there about giving you what you want. The servers are all wonderful kids. They really cater to us. Even the busboys donât miss a beat. We are thrilled to be able to go to such a quality high end restaurant with reasonable prices. We highly recommend Assaggio.

I never order chicken out. My boyfriend did. We have been back at least 5 times for that dish. It is stuffed with fontina cheese& spinach. We usually order two things to try something new. Everything is always great. The best waitress in CT is there too. She makes you feel like your in the best resturaunt without the heavy price. Go I promise you'll enjoy it...

Don't know what you want to eat? Let Assaggio decide! My waiter made everything sound mouth-watering (He wasn't so bad himself). I ended up going with the sea bass. Amazing.

All pasta dishes are very authentic and exquisitly prepared; not your ordinary New Haven area Italian eatery. Wine list is phenomenal and service is friendly and efficient. Don't leave without trying one of the generous desserts.
