I have to agree with Amber. I was very disappointed in this meal. We ordered buffalo wings as an appetizer and all I could taste was old oil and the wings had been boiled in water before had because they still had the water scum on them. I also ordered the steak fajitas. Onions, peppers and meat...that's what the fajitas are supposed to have, not squash and carrots. I think they were trying to get rid of the vegies. The meat was tough, and was more like a pounded top round then fajita meat. The rice was dry, the only condiments were a tomato-based hot (not) sauce, guacumole and sour cream. No lettuce, pico, cheese(!), and the tortillas tasted stale. My mother had the combo plate, two tacos, cheese enchilada (tasted like American), pinto beans and rice. She gave it a 5 out of 10 and said she won't be going back. (We vacation, every year, in Clinton for the summer.) The salsa and chips were the only things that were decent, it tasted fresh and gave a nice tingle to the tongue. I lived in Texas for 10 years and this was as far removed from Mexican food as you can get.

This place was the worst "mexican/tex-mex" food I have ever had. It is sad to see what the state of Ct considers good food. Everything we had was edible except for the Mexican rice. None of it was good though. I ordered the sizzling fajitas, now anyone who has ever been to a mexican restaurant knows fajitas are meat, onions, and peppers. Why did my fajitas come out with 1 single slice of bell pepper and tons of sliced squash and carrots. The food was barely seasoned. The meat was prepackaged and pre cooked. For 17.50 I expected a little more than 5 tiny chicken tender pieces. I wanted something with flavor. My gosh and the drinks come in TINY cups they charge 2 bucks for the first drink and 1 dollar for each refill...craziness. My daughters chicken tenders tasted like they were fried in fish oil. We were all very disappointed. Please don't waste your money on this place if you have ever been to a real mexican/tex- mex spot. you will be disappointed.

We went to the Cuckoo's Nest and had a wonderful dinner. The service was fast and friendly. The food was cooked the way we asked(more spice on one dish less on the other). A wonderful wine list and a great desert menu. We will be going back.
