Last night we went to First and Last for the third time in 3 months. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the bill was reasonable. If people complain about the bar atmosphere all you have to do is use the side entrance. Also there is a glass door that blocks the bar from the dining area. I believe they have the best wood fired pizza I have tasted so far.

I have never had a bad meal in this restaurant. the owners down to the staff have always been polite. Great food, Great service!!!!! Pizza is the best in the area and their calamari is too die for..I give this place an A+. Of course no restaurant is packed these days with the way the economy is going. Pizza is a luxury item these days but do splurge. : )

I don't fully understand what the issue is with the reviews stating that the restaurant is "scetchy" and the ambiance is "poor". This used to be a biker bar, and for many years, it has been turned into one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. I can see where if you haven't shown up in many years to try the wonderful food, and literally the absolute BEST pizza in the whole state of CT and most of NY too, you would maybe have a pre-conceived notion that his is still a run-down biker bar type of place. But let me enlighten you a little bit. The restaurant area is well located far from the bar area, and if you go into the restaurant doors, you dont even see the bar from where you are sitting. The head chef and chef's underneath him absolutely know what they are doing, and each and every dish that I have seen and tried is fantastic looking, and even more amazingly tasty, they are true professionals who care about thier food. This reataurant is really well known for its fresh New York style brick oven pizza, but I assure you, that if you give the many wonderful dinner dishes a try, you will be greatly impressed with the quality, freshness, and taste of the food here. They get most all of their main food and ingredients from fresh meat, fish and seafood markets on Aurthur Ave. in the Bronx, which their fresh bread, the best in the business is from, and go to local farms in Brewster, NY for the freshest vegtables as well. It is a travesty that more people are not aware of this diamond in the rough type of place, while others are blinded to the reality that this once was a biker bar. But it has not been for many many years. What it has been and STILL is, is a tremendously good place to eat the freshess ingredients, eat dishes and pizza from chefs that truly care about delivering a quality meal, and one of THE best places around for amazing pasta, veal, chicken dishes, and traditonal Italian food. You will be very impressed, I assure you. Give it a try, or come back to it once again.....this is NOT just a pizza joint, nor is it just a dive bar, as many people have referenced. Great food and service await you. You will be glad that you stopped in.
