I had a HORRIBLE experience with this company. Crude sales people to begin with, but this was only the beginning of the nightmare. They told me that they could install the expensive marble tiles I had bought with their in-house installers. The husband of the salewoman in the showroom showed up to my home and promised that I would be satisfied with their installation, and that they would carefully take out the existing tile floor without jackhammering or causing a mess in my home. When they finally showed up [after having them cancel several times for the installation date] I had a very bad feeling as the older owner secretly whispered things to his nephew [who was one of the incompetent installers.] After the older owner left my house, which I was unaware of since he said nothing to me about his disinterest in overseeing the project, the nephew happened to mention under his breath that he would have to 'jackhammer' the tiles. When I objected to this, a typical [bad contractor] tactic was played out quite expertly on an unsuspecting homeowner who had no idea that she was about to be toyed with. The nephew and other installer used incredible intimidation tactics and stonewalled their way into a position of not being able to do the job if they could not jackhammer. Long story short, I ran upstairs and called the older owner who was responsible for this whole manipulation, and he was a completely different character than the person who originally came to my home to sell his services. Suddenly, there was an argumentative, manipulative man on the phone who was totally convincing in his overbearing manner that it "had to be jackhammered." This was a horror show. My whole house was damaged with dust particles [due to the fact that they neglected to properly plastic off the area they were working] and they set off my fire alarm with the dust. The noise decible was unbearable. I told them that I have asthma PRIOR to starting their horrible jack hammer scenario, and they assured me that it would "be okay." I went into respiratory shock and could not breathe. My ears were exposed to such a high volume of jackhammering that my ears were ringing and one ear remains damaged to this day. My family was exposed to the toxic dust this horrible company caused and my pets were also exposed to both the noise, confusion, dust, and everything else that goes with the stress of having a dishonest contractor in your home. No apologies were given. Nothing. After two hours of jackhammering, and setting off my fire alarm, they then decide to just put concrete over the existing tiles since they then determined that the existing tiles in the basement were too hard to get out! Don't you think that this could have been determined more professionally and expertly by a good contractor who actually cared? Unthinkable lack of ethics. They did not care about the mess they made. They did not care about the damage to my home. They did not care about my medical bills as a result. They did not care about my emotional trauma that they caused. All that these wretched people cared about was "getting paid" for this nightmare of a scene. Additionally, the installation was such a terrible, unprofessionally installed tile job that I had to pay someone else to remove it and install yet another floor a year later. To call this a nightmare is to put it mildly. How dare they manipulate and injure someone who simply wanted to put in an expensive marble floor. The cost of ever having done business with this con man group of people was way too high. Never again. Buyer beware.

Greenwich Marble and Tile is one of the most professional, caring retail stores in the area. I have never seen the strive to satisfy customers as at this store. I'm sure your 'bad' experience has to do with missed expectations. Greenwich tile is about style, elegance, and caring for their customers!

Jeez lady, are you kidding me? Did you know that calling someone incompetent is libelous and you can be sued for it? Did you ever think that perhaps the contractor couldn't fully assess the situation until they started working on it? As for your asthma, YOU should have taken precautions if you can't be exposed to dust. It's your health issue, take some responsibility. Did you just sit there and do nothing while there was dust in your house? How about getting a fan?! You Greenwich prima donnas are revolting. To say that you were emotionally traumatized because a jackhammer had to be used is a joke. Did you stand next to it while they were using it? If not, then how could it have hurt your delicate ears? Maybe you could have gone out for the afternoon and wasted more of your husband's money on Greenwich Avenue. You also said there was confusion. What exactly were you confused about? They thought they wouldn't need a jackhammer but then realized they did. Things change. That's life. Get over it. Oh, and did dust particles really damage your house? What is it made of? Dust is barely heavier than air. Does air damage your house too? You seem to have more problems than a math book, lady. Nobody manipulated you. They thought they could accommodate your prima donna requests but realized they couldn't so you threw a fit like a child. Grow up.
