If you love the exotic flavors that Thai and Vietnamese food offer, then this is a great place. The food is delicious and it is the only great Thai food within 12 miles.
The owner(Eric) is Laotian and is a soft, kind, gentleman. He is fluent in Thai, Laotian, Vietnamese and French. he is quick to kindly greet you and offer you a hello and thank you.
Thai Village has changed its name to incorporate its Vietnamese menu now. On Friday and Saturday nights, a few of the owners nieces work for him. Besides his youngest high school grade nieces, there is only one other server who is friendly there. The rest if the staff is rude and always makes you feel like you are a burned when you walk in. We used to eat there at least 4-5 times a week and I took clients there for lunch twice a week. Unfortunately when we ordered take out one evening, I called to let them know that they put someone elses order in along with ours. I did this out of courtesy so that they could expect a shorted order for somebody else. Being in the food industry, let me tell you that once food leaves an establishment, it can not be returned for another use. It came to complete shock when I phoned and was asked by "Janice" to bring the order back. My family was sitting down to eat, and here I was having to return a single order of curry. Now, the proper thing to have done was to thank the caller and tell them that they will inform the kitchen. I retruned and the lady who was waiting behind me when I was there was still awaiting her order (more than 30 minutes) and comes to find out they were waiting on the curry dish I returned. I informed her of the situation which she was unaware of, and I made sure to tell her to ask that a fesh curry be made while the old one satyed out in her view. "Janice" was on the phone (for 5 minutes?) while this was going on, and I was never thanked for retruning the food. Never going back. Sorry Eric.
I never sway businsess away from good people, and that is the farthest objective here. When I dine out, I am an easy person to serve. I am friendly and outgoing, but is it too much to expect common courtesy? Again, the food is great and the owner is a genuine person so try his place and just hope you have either his nice neice or the Thai girl (Sue) as your server.
nice place to eat good food: even the service is too slow food is very tasty and less spicy and not expensive as other thai restaurants.
Best thai food around: I LOVE Thai Village and have gotten everyone I know into it also. My husband..parents..and boss all love it now too.
