I thought Goodwill served the USA only and did not know they SELL leftover items we donate to retailers overseas vs. helping homeless and other people struggling here??? Also, what is going on with the pricing? The prices our outrageous. You can shop a clearance sale at a really nice department store and do better saving money...I am finding these large thrift shop CORPORATIONS are just that corporations and I bet their CEOs are making millions of dollars off of our FREE donations.
Westport Store is Reborn!!
The Westport Goodwill Store is soon moving to a bigger location at 1700 Post Road. the site of the old Peppermill Restaurant. Our Westport store has long been a favorite with customers and is known as one of our premier retail locations. Receiving high-quality donations, it is the place to shop in Fairfield County for designer clothing, handbags, antiques and household treasures at affordable prices.
Construction is now underway for a new 10,00 sq. ft Goodwill Boutique with an anticipated open date in the spring of 2012. The larger space alloes Goodwill to offer customers more selection and an overall enhanced shopping experience. In addition to wider aisle and spacious dressing rooms, parking will be easier at the new location with 50 spaces, more than twice the spots available at the current location. A covered drive-thru donation center will be adjacent to the boutique allowing customers easier donation drop-offs and protection from the weather.

New location. Same careless workers, over and inconsistently priced broken items. Rejected Target items sell for 10% Target s price. New location shows where profit is going- anywhere but to people that need it.
My sister and I were actually referred to this place by a Goodwill employee from another Goodwill. I guess she hasn't been there in some time. Pros: Decent parking lot. Cons: Where do I begin. When you first walked in to this Goodwill, it looked like you came to visit someone with a filthy house. The set up is a total mess. I didn't want to go left or right. The accessories were very nice but way overpriced. Well everything was overpriced for that matter. My sister found two beautiful vintage sequin knee length dresses for $45 EACH...WHAT?!?!? And sadly the tag color wasn't the discounted color for the day. We were immediately displeased and wished we didn't commute 55 minutes to this Goodwill. We managed to force ourselves to purchase 5 items for $27.90 w a 25% discount. Whoopty Doo! While on line my sister spotted a theif right in front of her on the line purchasing tons of flatware with a GOODWILL ITEM RIGHT ON HER BACK! The staff are unprofessional and LOUD, like louder than the store music. And the content of their conversations are EXTREMELY inappropriate. My sister and I wanted to LITERALLY run out of this store. My sister actually said "I am very disappointed." I could say more, hence this review. I know all Goodwills will not be equal, but may I suggest that if their prices are going to be so unrealistic for a used item store that they CLEAN THAT PLACE UP & TOTALLY RETRAIN OR REPLACE THEIR STAFF with more customer friendly, efficient, ATTENTIVE (clears throat..theif) and most importantly QUIET staff. If you would like to see a picture of the inside of this store, as well as the items purchased, comment and I will e-mail them to you. I am posting this to save long distance commuters such as myself and my sis TIME and excited energy. They have quite a few designer and good quality items, but the prices are so not worth it. They need to keep in mind that we will be the 2nd maybe even 3rd, 4th or 5th owners of these items, and the prices should reflect that or we can just go to a discount dept store. That is all.
