I came here on a tuesday night with a friend who is from Louisiana. They were having a crawfish special and while I am allergic to shellfish, decided to opt for a big hearty bowl of chicken and andouille sausage Jambalaya. With a sprinkle of Zatarain's i savored my meal from beginning to end. The chicken exploded with flavor and the sausage gave it that needed kick. I was in food heaven for a good 15 minutes. I love this stuff. I tied it down with a couple Sam Adams' seasonal beers (my friend had a local brew called "Abita Turbo Dog") and finished the grand meal with a light fluffy cinnamon cheesecake that perfectly topped off my eating experience. My only regret was that I didn't plunk down another 17 bucks for another bowl of my favorite jambalaya. If only there were refills.
The place is right by the Path Train if you're coming from Newark, or NJ Transit trains to Hoboken. You can't miss when you get out. Nice ambience; The only thing that somewhat irked me was that we got our cornbread, and meal without even receiving utensils... so we just grabbed them off another empty table. Aside from that, great all around.
YES: FANTASTIC crawfish poppers. Don't go there with out ordering them. I get them every time, and Good Hurricanes and Jumbalya...too. I'd Pass on dessert though, there are lots of other places in Hoboken with better sweet treats.
Hurricanes...Catfish...Bread Pudding, Oh My!: This is a really nice restaurant...the ambience is good, and the food is even better! It's right across the Holland Tunnel (the Jersey City Location) so you can't get lost. If you go after 10 p.m., have a hurricane for me!
