Topaz Thai Restaurant

Just got back from Topaz in Belleville, NJ.
I had to try this place as I frequent more thai places than most. The reviews were all 5 star.

I started with a Thai salad in a peanut sause. The salad was a bit rusty as it was not very fresh. The peanut sauce dressing was okay but a bit sweet.

I ordered the Chicken Mussaman. I asked for some hot pepper sause and the waiter said I will bring you the spice caddy. Two of the three jars on the caddy were empty and not so clean.
The Chicken Mussaman eas a bit sweet and the chicken a little over cooked although it wasn't too bad.

I read about Mamma cooking her old family recipes but when I looked through the glass on the kithchen doors, I saw a couple Mexican's cooking. Where's Mamma???

This place for the price is okay at best.

I travel the entire Tri-State area and the best Thai, in my opinion is Andaman Seafood Receipe in Morristown, NJ.

I am a local and will go there whenever I need less fuss and a good time. The menu is quite extensive.

I live in the Bronx and my friend always recommended this restaurant. This is obviously not in close proximity to the Bronx, but I ventured out and had to try it. OMG!!!! What a restaurant!!!!!! This is the best Thai food that I have tasted. The food tastes fresh, the people are warm and friendly. What a fabulous recommendation! You cannot go anywhere in Nothern New Jersey and get such tasty food. The ambiance is cozy and as soon as you enter in the restaurant, you feel like home. The owner greets you when you come in and even sits down and chit chat with her customers. Her food recommendations are always right on point and her staff are always friendly and inviting. You have not tasted Thai food until you go to Topaz Thai Restaurant on Washington in Belleville. Absolutely, the BEST!!!! I am looking forward to my next visit there. Enjoy!
