Best place in Jersey City: We go to Madame Claude's for dinner at least 2-3 times a month and have always loved it. It's cosy (probably seats 30 people only), with great ambience, and the food is true French. The crepes are to die for -- my favorite is the Crepe Marocaine, which has spicy lamb sausage and mushrooms with creme fraiche inside a beautiful buckwheat crepe, with a fresh greens salad on the side. The appetizers are great (cheese plates, pate, escargot, salads, grilled marinated calamari, and more) and the hanger steak with shallot sauce is superb. Bring your own wine - they don't even charge a corking fee! The owners are a French couple who get to know all the regular diners by name. We have always felt very welcome there and the food never fails to thrill us. Try it!!
Oh yes, I almost forgot -- the prices are very reasonable. If you bring your own wine you can have an outstanding dinner for two for under $50.

A wonderful little cafe: Madame Claude is a great little place to get a bite to eat. You can bring a bottle of your favorite wine and eat dishes that make you feel as if you are in France.
