It is a clean facility with a friendly staff located in the nice town of Ramsey. acrross the strreet there is conveinetly an ice cream parlor along with other stores, resturaunts, etc...The show is shown on a nice big screen. There are 2 theaters and 2 bathrooms. the prices are great, and overall it is wonderful.

The Ramsey Cinema is absolutely darling! Ramsey is a small upscale town, that makes you yearn to repeat the best days of your childhood.

I've seen about five movies there. The sound system is better than average, the screen is large for a small theatre, and the seats are comfortable.

Best of all, the people that come to see movies there are all polite and know not to talk during the film. Also, in the rare instance that a child started to make a scene, the mom abruptly took the child right out of the theatre.

You can normally get tockets to most shows the day of, but there was one time when people had lined up early and the show was sold out.

The staff is friendly and there's easy parking. Do not go to Ramsey Cinema if you are looking for the latest in stadium seating, phenomenal accoustics, and digital projection. But go ahead and take a date, when you want to have a cozy thoroughly enjoyable experience. I highly recommend the Ramsey Cinema!

DO THE STARS LIE???? Oh my, I wound up here for the first time after I went to a theater in a nearby town which was sold out. Called movie phone and ended up at Ramsey Theater. Knowing Ramsey as an upscale town with a lovely little downtown, I figured it had to be good. I was WRONG. It's BEYOND small. Uncomforatably small. It's OLD and run down. One member of our party sat on a seat covered with chocolate (there were none others left) and I stood up and realized my bottom was saturated with SODA (I hope and pray) . The bathrooms are MINISCULE. Two women were whacked in the head by the door trying to get in. A complete joke. The only thing - it's cheap- but you get what you pay for.

You make it sound a lot worse than it is. It is a nice theater to bring your kids to when you want to see a matinée or just see a no frills flick. It does not have stadium seating nor the best sound system but it is what it is... a nice small town theater. If you want the whole enchilada go to the Palisades Mall! I haven't been to a theater that didn't have a sticky floor at some point, but it appears you had some bad luck with your seats. 15 years ago they switched the theater from a single screen into a double, I think that was a mistake. Still I take my kids there all the time.

I am into surround sound etc, BUT this theater is great for convenience. It does not require an additional 20 mins for parkinmg - like Palisades Mall-, it is small enough that if your kids take off, you still feel that you can find them quickly and safely, and once you get into the movie, the other stuff kida fades away. Will not be my choice if I had a date with my husband alone, but with the kids, it works great!

I agree with the original post... it could be better - but it's poorly managed. Dirty and too small.

The bathroom doors open INWARD, so it's impossible to bang your head on them if you are trying to get in. I've seen people in wheelchairs enter & use those bathrooms, so I'd say you are embellishing quite a bit. This is the last of the family owned 1st Run Neighborhood Movie Theaters. I think this family has owned it since '82 or something. How they keep getting the first run movies (on rare occasions an exclusive area run!!!!)I'll never know. But it's usually packed and the same families keep coming back. I know we do. So I can tell you, Ramsey and the surrounding towns love this tiny theater, warts and all. Think about it, once it's gone and it becomes another coffee shop, your kids will only know Corporate movie theaters like AMC, you'll never see an old fashioned Small town neighboorhood theater again.
