I've read the other reviews and I'm surprised by the lengthy negative response of the one. I've had the misfortune of having three collisions this year with my 4 runner. 8th Street has handled all of the repairs and I have only compliments in regards to service and quality of work. I'll trust that the other reviewer did have a bad experience, mine has been completely the opposite.
Took my car in for accident claim inspection. Did not schedule repair due to previous review.
Staff was very friendly and helpful to me and all other customers who came in. Many were repeat customers who seemed extremely happy with service. I noted 2 customers with damage repairs. Both had all work explained to them, inspected their cars before finalizing paperwork and seemed pleased with results and quickturnaround.
Although my place did a great job on my damage repair, I would consider using 8th Street the next time I need a repair.
If you value your car, do not bring it to this body shop. I got into an accident and was hit on the driver's side door. The driver's side door and the driver's side fender both needed to be replaced. Geico raved about what a good body shop this was and told me to go there. First of all, this shop kept promising the car would be ready on different times and different days. It took them almost 4 weeks to finally get my car back. That is a long time considering that there was nothing wrong with the car internally. I don't even mind it taking almost 4 weeks, but to be promised different days and different times over and over again is exhausting while you carpool to work. When I got my car back. They replaced the whole door and fender. There were scratches on the "brand new" door. The fender was put on wrong, you could see a gap compared to the other side. The bumper was replaced and now left a gap between the hood of the car and the bumper. Then I noticed something else, the right side of the car (which was in no way shape or form affected by the accident) was all scratched up. You could see dull areas where they sanded the car down. There were splotches and scratches all over the right side. On my drive home, the tire air pressure light came on. When I called to complain, the owner stated that I wouldn't be in this situation If I had renter's insurance then started quoting me prices as if I was completely incapable of researching this myself or as if it was any of his business why I did not have renter's insurance. I have now switched insurance policies, and my car is being repaired by a much better body shop. The work done at 8th street auto body was criticized heavily by the shop currently repairing my car. Bottom line, with so many body shops around these days, don't go here. There is no sense in going to 1 body shop only to have to go to another shortly after. It will cause you nothing but headaches and fits of rage.
