User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsFor all us Northvaler's we have very little options. I have found the diamond in the rough. This Place looks like nothing special, but watch out, Hennessy Tavern has a new chef and He is OUT of Control Amazing!!! ! I felt like i was having dinner in New York that's how good it was . Listen the place isn't Cafe Grey in the Time Warner building but the food and the prices are awesome!!! They have a great kids menu too.Don"t let the decor fool you there is a chef Rockin that Place and people need to know about it. The Braised Short Ribs, The Cavatelli Bolognese Just like grandma on Sundays, Thai Sesame salad is to die for, Spicy Garlic Shrimp i don't know what to say except delicious. Ladies and Gentlemen get your booties off the couch and get to Hennessy Tavern. Oh yeah the wine list, it is nothing to brag about right now but the chef tells me that not only are they putting a real wine list together but they are hosting 2 wine tasting dinners in Jan & Feb of 2009 . Pretty Big Beer list (not a beer drinker but my husband is).They have a bar oh yeah i almost forgot HAPPY HOUR They run a happy hour that is crazy!!! $3 dollar small plates and i am not talking chicken fingers we are talking Spicy Chicken Wontons, Pulled Pork Sliders, It is so cool. We are so happy we needed it desperately up here. Can't wait for the wine list to come out . OMG and he was a chef in NY for ten years. I found out he worked in Candela in Union Square (thanks to the internet) Last but not Least I just want to say Welcome to Northvale CHEF JOE U ROCK!!!! Great Great Food Find especially in this economy.welcome welcome welcome!

Triple Love Hennesey Tavern in Northvale, NJ! My wife and I ate their a couple of years ago and loved the cozy atmosphere and the food was hands down delicious. NOT TO MENTION..the night we ate their JILL was their herself! She came in halfway thru our meal and went over to a table to sit with what must have been friends/family. At the time it was just my wife and I, plus two more tables. It was later in the evening and it was near closing. Jill looked gorgeous in a black leather jacket and jeans. We didn't interupt her nor ask for an autograph, but being able to see her ten feet away was more than enough to make the experience wonderful. Touche to this tavern..great dining, great environment and great owners!
