Altough I've not been to Mike's in several years, I'm glad to know that it's still around. I grew up in Laurence Harbor which is several miles from Keyport and we'd drive there to get subs, but we couldn't eat them untill we got back home. I remember holding the bag and sniffing it all the way home. It drove me crazy! But it was always a special thing as a kid. I now live in VA, but I'm thinking that I've got to go to Mike's the next trip to Jersey.

Ahhhh, how I could go for 1/2 a #1 with everything: Growing up in Cliffwood Beach, we went to Mike's every week (Paul, you were so adorable - I always had a crush on ya). Now, living in Colorado, we are stuck with Subway (ugh), Quizno's (even worse), and dumps who claim to have the "best Jersey-style "HOAGIES" anywhere".
Please Lord, send me a #1, extra provolone, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper.
Mike's has the best subs in the world.
