I'm torn! I always bragged about how great Windansea was and how it was expensive but well worth it! We've been there many times throughout the winter and summer. I'm hoping that the recent food I've had this past summer is just a change of chefs. I'm really not liking it too much!
In the past, I've had stuffed flounder, pasta with seafood, sole francaise, shrimp scampi...and other things I can't remember right now. I've always thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience down to the fantastic balsamic vinaigrette and warm rolls!
Recently, I've had soft shell crabs and a forgettable other fish dish. Let me tell you, I'm not impressed at all. I will be giving Windansea another chance this winter and I'm hoping it's just a summer thing!
I'll still go for the drinks and atmosphere, though.

Windansea: One of my all time favorite restaurants! The food is fresh and the menu is sophisticated but not pretentious. My favorite is the Windansea salad with the grilled shrimp add on. Well worth the $12.95 price point. I also reccommend the cheescake, by far the best I've ever tasted in a restaurant. So creamy, and fresh it melted in my mouth with not a hint of that refrigerator taste that most restaurant cheescakes absorb. The atmosphere.... elegant but still remains casual, but classy casualy not sneaker casual. The enclosed atrium overlooking Sandy Hook is the place to sit. Quite a beautiful view. In the summer the Tiki bar is hopping and boaters can drive up to the dock and stop in for a quick bite and a cool drink. By far the best joint on the hook! Check it ou,t for shore...lol..lol..
