Schaefer Roofing & Siding Company

I hired Schaefer to put a new roof on my house. I had two layers of shingles on my roof already so the whole roof had to be torn off before the new shingles could be applied. In addition, I had a pretty bad leak in my sun room that other roofers had attempted to fix in the past. Therefore, I was nervous about hiring anyone. However, Mr. Schaefer guaranteed that the sun room leak would be fixed.

Turns out, I was very fortunate that I hired this company. They did not cut corners during the job and had a special canister to collect all the roof debris during the tear down. They paid special attention to not destroying the bushes and shrubs around the house. My roof was in pretty bad shape and required the replacement of several sheets of plywood. They did an A+ job on the roof. It’s been over nine months and no leaks whatsoever, despite all the rain we’ve had this season. The roof looks great.

Although I only had my roof replaced, I could tell by the way Mr. Schaefer and his crew conducted themselves, that they were top notch professionals. Therefore, I would not hesitate to hire them for any additional projects.

Rather then make you wade through all the details, I will start with the conclusion and then fill in the nooks and crannies from there. If you are looking to have your home resided and/or new windows installed, this is EXACTLY the man that you want to do the job. He has everything that you are looking for in a contractor. We could not have asked for a better experience than the one provided by Mr. Schaefer and his crew. Mr. Schaefer himself was on-site all day, everyday working side-by-side with his small 2 man crew. “The Original” Schaefer and Sons brought the perfect blend of craftsmanship, affordability, and integrity to the table. If we had to do it all over again, we would absolutely without question, hire Mr. Schaefer’s outfit again.

Mr. Schaefer took our home, which was just an average sprawling type ranch, rather nondescript and aging badly, and turned it into one of the best looking homes in the neighborhood. The detail he adds to everything he does is fantastic. The trim work he installed around our windows is so eye catching and aesthetically pleasing. It is especially wonderful because we never would have thought of it. The best part about it is this is just how the man works! We never asked for fancy trim work (or knew to ask for it) but this is just how the man does things. I guess the word for that is pride.

Our product of choice was Certainteed Cedar Impressions 7” staggered vinyl siding. Mr. Schaefer molded it like clay to fit our home like a glove. We get so many complements on our home now. We have 2 neighbors that recently had their homes resided come over to compare jobs. Both said that although they are satisfied with the jobs done on their homes, they wished they knew of Mr. Schaefer beforehand. They questioned who (me or my wife) was the creative one that came up with the idea for the trim work around the windows.

He really does have a good eye for design. He recommended that we install a few recessed lights across the front of our home under the overhangs. Our home now looks equally as beautiful at night as it does in daylight. He recommended we put the lights near our garage on a timer so my wife never had to pull into a dark driveway…she instantly fell in love.

I contacted Schaefer roofing and siding to get an estimate to re-side my home using cedar impressions on all 4 sides as opposed to just the front. he was the only contractor who didn't try and talk me into just using CI on the front. He gave me a price based on exactly what I wanted. He was lower than several other well-known siding contractors in the area who seemed bent on only doing the front in CI and the rest in basic lap siding. They all kept telling me it was going to be expensive and were more concerned that their quote wasn't going to be compared the same way. I liked Mr. Schafer's straight forward approach. He said there were several Schaefer contracting co.'s in the area but he was known as "The original Schaefer and sons".
He arrived as scheduled, completed the job in 10 days and even included alot of detail work above and below the windows that I didnt even realize were part of his quote. (I'm not a details guy)
the job came out beautiful and there were no hidden extras. the total bill was for exactly what the original estimate was. this guy was a real pleasure to deal with. I would definitely use him again!
