User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsFantastic food and experience! After moving out here from NYC, I was searching for the perfect bistro and have found it. Perfect ambiance, delectable food, and wonderful service. Highly recommend the artichoke dip appetizer and seared tuna dinner.

Mattar's Bistro now has happy hour mon-fri! It was PACKED tonight, so much fun! Good social scene!

Ok, let's be honest here, the food is very good, but the prices are high because of the elegant ambiance.
This is a jackets only restaurant with tuxedo dressed waiters and piano bar.
One of the only reasons this restaurant even exists in a small town like Hackettstown is that executives from M&M Mars have somewhere close-by to eat or entertain clients.
Otherwise, it's over-rated, and even to the point of being pompous.
But if you like that kind of thing, this is the only place to go in the area.
