Millside Cafe

This was recommended to us by Harmony Ridge Campground where we stayed in Branchville, NJ. This cafe is about 15 minutes south. It is in a quaint village shop area. The parking is good. When you get in there it is of an old time nostalgic atmosphere. All the tables are different. It reminds me of Grandma's budget table but they are sturdy. It has a unique character. It is quite clean yet authentic almost like a New England kind of place. The restaurant itself looks as if it was built in the 1930s. They even have those original old windows. The entrance is a screen door. It has ceiling fans.

We went there for breakfast. Now it doesn't have this vast variety of breakfast foods like a diner but I will tell you the food was quite worth it. The omelettes were very fresh including the taste of the vegetables and meats in it. I actually ordered a side order of bacon which is of very good quality. One thing you need to know is THEY DON'T ACCEPT CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS. EVERYTHING IS PAID BY CASH ONLY.

Their home fries are out of this world. It is a small portion but with everything else on your plate you will leave satisfied. The omelette alone was of a good size.

Our waitress was very nice. It gets busy there but the waitresses are on their toes. Now with side extras like bacon and extra toast, 2 nice size breakfasts, our bill came out a little over $22.00. I know that sounds high but remember we ordered EXTRA SIDES.

So, in conclusion, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best rating, I would give them an 8. Get there early because it packs up fast!

Used to be a wonderful place with superb food... the food no has little to no flavor (except the soup) and the chef seems to have gotten lazy with both his ideas and his technique. also the prices are far too high for what you get. great service and charming atmosphere...i used to be a regular here, but no more. hope you can turn it back around guys, I miss the food when it was tasty and reasonably priced.

Fresh food, made to order, lots of vegetarian foods, and GREAT pies, and ice cream. They offer a wide variaty of FRESH meats, veggies, and salads. Daily specials R Awesome !!! Homemade soups daily---------- must try the Dutch Onion soup. It ROCKS !!! The service is friendly, and the prices R right !!!!5 stara rating !!!
