Anyone who has not been at Braddock's since the new ownership has taken over needs to give it another try! I have eaten there three times in the last month and have been impressed each time. I love the fact that you can go in wearing jeans and a nice top, or dressy attire, and feel comfortable either way. Both the "bar menu" as well as the full dining menu are very impressive, and both the quality and portion size are a great value. The staff is very attentive - even eating dinner on the front porch a few Fridays ago, the bartender who waited on us (even though she had a capacity crowd at the bar) was always right there when we needed something. Try the lobster mac and cheese, or the seafood strudel as an entree - and you cannot miss out on the philly cheesesteak spring rolls - we were told they are made fresh every day. They were out of this world!
VERY disappointing-terrible: We went here for an anniversary celebration dinner. We were disappointed in our entire dining experience. The salad was the highlight of our meal. Our entree's were less than appetizing when they arrived and barely edible. The veal burlington medallions were thick like a filet mignon and slapped onto a plate with zero presentation and the crispy duck was far from crispy! Everything was tasteless and very blah. We figured that dessert is hard to mess up...right? Wrong!! Even the desserts were terrible. Highly overrated and overpriced. We left feeling like this was our worst meal ever!
Bring back the old menu and chef!: This was our first time going to Braddocks since they apparently got a new menu and chef. Our waiter debriefed us on that fact when we sat down; Looking back it was kind of like he was apologizing in advance for the mess that was about to happen.
The old Braddocks was upscale American. Regardless of the type, the food was just good.
This new menu is trying to be some international-American fusion, and it's a total trainwreck. And don't get me wrong, I actually love international food of all types. What we had at this new Braddocks was just really bad food by any name.
Generally, everything was without flavor and cold. The things from the old menu were not the same dishes and the new menu items were not too good either.
The service from the waiter was ok but the runner was a disaster. He took our plates away before we were done, looked like he was half asleep, and touched the rims of our coffee cups with his fingers (uh, that's why they made saucers).
The whole thing was totally overpriced beyond belief for what we were served.
If you loved the old Braddocks or even remotely liked it, you are most likely not going to like this new menu. Even if you have never been to the old Braddocks, you probably will feel the same way.
We really should have complained and gotten some discount or something.
It's too bad because the building is still beautiful.
