As South Jersey diners go, this is decent, but not top of the heap. The baked goods are very good, the menu prices are right on target for this type of establishment, and the portions are again about what you would expect in this neck of the woods. Regarding the bar, it is on the small side and does get noisy especially when Philly sports teams are playing.
Have eaten there three or four times with a friend and we have always walked away satisfied with the quality ot the foods and feel that we're getting a good return for our money.
We used to like this place but it's not what it was. Cutting corners I suppose. First let me say that we are not "high-falutin' types" who turn their noses up at diner food, but we do know the difference between good food and junk. At the very beginning of our meal my husband noticed that the creamy Italian dressing had been watered down. (to stretch it?). His veal parm was, in his words, "Disgusting". A paper-thin piece of veal surrounded by huge amounts of breading to make it appear bigger than it was. All you could taste was the breading! I'm not kidding when I say that there was 4x more breading than veal. He could not even eat the pasta that came with it, said it was "awful"-- over cooked and tasteless. My Gyro (which I've ordered for years) didn't have the amount of meat on it that it previously had. And the meat used was different..... more spicy, not as good, IMO. In this economy, when eating out is a "treat" it's a real disappointment to be served food that is not what you expected.
So we have crossed this off of our list of local eateries.
the food is good, try the blt and stuffed mushrooms. i dont like the bar, they really dont know how to serve drinks properly. they really only do beer, the mixed drinks are not good. the owners are a problem
