Panini Bay is my favorite restaurant on earth -- and I'm fortunate enough to live nearby! First, the setting -- right on the bay, you can arrive by car or boat. If it's not cloudy, you can see Atlantic City in the distance. Second, the atmosphere in the restaurant itself -- the decor is aesthetically pleasing and lovely. Third, the service is excellent, with experienced and young servers who truly make customers feel special. And, of course, the food -- wow!! Everything is carefully prepared from Old World Italian recipes that Chef Kathy learned from her mentor. But Chef Kathy herself is an expert chef, and she develops new and simply delicious specials of her own -- and all are consistently delicious! I can't imagine tastier food anywhere, because this is the very best. My personal favorite is the pasta Bolognese, which exceeds any other Bolognese recipe I've ever had. My husband always gets a fish dish, which he raves about, and my son adores the pasta with bacon and cream sauce. My son also adores Chef Kathy, as many do, because she is one of the warmest and friendliest people around. Kathy also gives cooking lessons in the winter, so we can experience that great, little kitchen ourselves! There may be some peers, in NY or Phili, but there is definitely no BETTER culinary experience anywhere than at Panini Bay!
Love this restaurant - just wish they could be open seven days a week year-round - we need good restaurants all year not just in the summer months --- for we shore residents.
Keep up the wonderful food and service,
Cheers
If you love Italian food and you live on the Jersey Shore, then you will be trilled with Panini Bay. It's a cozy, warm restaurant that overlooks a beautiful bay and serves food that would make my Italian grandmother very happy. I have been there several times and my all time favorite dish is the crispy artichoke hearts cooked Roman style. They are deep fried and turn out to be like artichoke chips. I recently had dinner there and had the mussels in white wine shallot cream sauce with grilled garlic bread, followed by a thick porterhouse veal chop with wild mushroom mascarpone sauce to die for, delish! There are too many yummy dishes to list here. Lunch is also great. Warm grilled panini filled with melted mozzarella and prosciutto or a salad made with chicken cutlet that is cripsy on the outside but tender in the middle with fresh tomatoes and red onions with balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil. The place is small but they just added a new deck overlooking the water which added more seating. This restaurant is always my first choice for lunch or dinner. Some of the specials are a bit pricey sometimes but they are a treat. The regular menu is very resonable and the portions are more then decent. Bring your favorite wines to add to this special experience.
