User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsNice to see, but fall short of poor: I was told the Magnolia Room was a great southern fine dining experience. The people who tout such lingo must be ignorant. I took my mother, father, wife and daughter to the Magnolia Room for Mothers' Day 2005. It was an absolute failure from drink service to appetizers to entrees, which featured vegitables right out of the can and it was not cheap. I was so embarrassed that I apologized to my wife and mother for being fooled by false promotion. My mother was forgiving, but my wife punished me for about 5 days.
The following weekend, I made up for my gaffe by taking all to the Peter Shields Inn, where the dining experience was everything expected in fine dining. This place is among the greatest of dining establishments. Both mother and wife conveyed their appreciation.
Outside of beautiful Chalfont Hotel history and ambiance, this is among the worst dining experiences I have ever experienced.
