About:A winding slate path through overhanging vines and tropical foliage leads to the historic 1840 Carriage house. Slowly spinning ceiling fans stir the aromas of French-New Orleans accented cooking and fresh seafood and steaks grilling over mesquite. Though you are only two and a half hours from NYC in Victorian Cape May, you envision yourself in the Caribbean or perhaps Key West. Dining in the canopied garden, or on the candlelit veranda, the dream continues with the exotic cuisine of internationally acclaimed Chef Sing Cheng, whose original creations include local-caught tuna, swordfish and mahi-mahi in fabulous sauces, elaborate entrees of local shellfish & lobster, and the justly famous smoked, grilled and blackened steaks and prime rib. Beyond the menu, a dozen or more seafood specials are offered nightly. The helpful staff, coolly attired in 410's signature tropical batik, makes you feel like you are dining on a private yacht. One of ZAGATs "America's Top Restaurants 2009."

    BETTER THAN MARDI GRAS
We visited on the very last night of the 2008 season, and were somewhat startled to find the host and all the staff dressed in costumes, clever to exotic, as well as many of the customers, who I guess know the ropes that the last night is dress up night having been here before. At first we were a bit put off--but never been to a restaurant of this calibre with such a friendly staff. And THE FOOD was incredible. Rich deep succulent spicy Lobster bisque and an elegant crab meat avocado terrine started us off, then the most delicious and largest meat dish I've ever eaten, a smoked, blackened and then grilled prime rib still on the bone, crispy smokey and spiced on the outside, tender within, while my wife had local caught Mahi Mahi with a vanilla laced somewhat sweet coconut lime sauce, with a miniature glass of an amazing little fruit drink and coconut battered shrimp delightfully arranged on the plate. And shockingly we somehow split a chocolate bourbon pecan pie helped by a glob of real whipped cream, and cups of dark French Roast coffee. We both agreed, best restaurant meal we ever had anywhere.

I'm not only a waiter but also a customer: The food has remained the same for my entire life. Living in Cape May and having a father who worked at this restaurant for almost 2 decades now has allowed me to enjoy every single menu item and more. Everything seems to out-do the rest. Without doubt try the Blackened Scallops app and the Smoked Mako Shark app special. The oyster stew is the best soup I've ever had and I don't even care for oysters. As for entree's the Tuna BBS (black bean sauce) or the Red Snapper Provencal are my favorite menu choices for fish but if you are a meat eater then definitely try the Jamaican Steak or the Prime Rib but definitely get the Rib cooked to Medium or Med Well... it tastes better and is more buttery.... TRUST ME! Desert definitely the key lime pie or the bread pudding (aka cube of ecstasy).
