Part of our trip plans: We live in the Midwest and only make it to NJ about once a year. No trip is complete without a family night at the Library. Prices are a bit over the top but the food is to die for. Great salad bar and fabulous bread, even though I rarely eat bread anywhere else. I'm so glad our local relatives found this jewel yet I'm jealous every time I hear they went for a prime rib without us.

Good food, rude service: Last time I went there with my friend and our fiances was the abolsute last time. I have never been treated so rudely by a waitress in all my life. We were given a bill that was not itemized so we had to guess what was what, the bar and food menu were on opposite sides of the check and not totaled up, then the waitress chased us out of the bar because we refused to tip her. Sure the food may be great, and the environment very enjoyable, but the overall service that night totally turned myself and my companions off of the Library III. Pay a little extra and go somewhere where the wait staff is courteous.

Not bad for a Steak, but needs some updates.: I have been to this resturant several times over the past 2 or so Decades.
You place your order directly with the Cheif. You get a Steak and Potato or like item. Also an Opened Salad Bar.
Their Steaks are good, not outstanding, but a good steak none the less.
My last visit was after a decade plus. I was not impressed. I remebered it as a DARK PLACE to EAT and it is. I could not SEE my FOOD.
