Their Summer Pizza is to die for. Not a fancy place, but real friendly staff and the best pizza around. Also they deliver ($5 minimum). What's not to like? Afterward get yourself an icy from Rita's.
Great Sicilian Pie as well as Best Tomato Pie: Just found these guys on 206 and have been back already a few times. Everything is done right--well baked, carefully sauced and cheesed, hot and fresh tasting. Good subs, too. Thin crust plain is as good as it gets and Sicilian is a great buy for a crowd and completely enjoyable center to crust.
An awsome Tomato Pie!!!: Ok Heres the deal. I dont want anyone telling me about the best pizza in the tristate area unless the have been to Palermos first. I have a passion for nice pie and Ive had many chances to snack on some of the better pies in the area and these guys rank in the top three.
A friend of mine told me about Palermo's in Bordentown a few years ago. At first I dismissed him as not really knowing anything about pizza and put it on the back burner for well over a year or two even though he kept bragging about how great the pie was. I was still skeptical so I threw him the what about Delorenzos? question to see if he even had a clue to what good pie is all about and he told me it was a respectable pie but he'd drive passed Delorenzo's anytime and head for Palermo's.
After getting some quick directions from my friend I found myself parked outside scratching my head wondering if this was the place he was bragging about - so plain looking it will make you wonder if its worth going inside. Ahhh - but once through the door you know this place means business. Catch a wiff and eyeball some of the tables and you know you're in for a treat.
It's plain, no fancy stoves or other gimmicks - it's the real deal serving one mean Tomato Pie. It's amazing what top notch ingredients and a skillful pie maker can make its truly one of the best Tomato pies Ive eaten. I took me well over a year maybe closer to 2 years before I actually went there and I've been kicking myself ever since. The locals know it's good but I can't believe how long this place has been flying under the radar screen. Go check it out, you can't go wrong here.
