I love sushi and was shocked when I discovered the little Sakura Express down the street in Princeton. The food here is as fresh and good as some very fine sushi joints I've visited. And the prices are extremely reasonable.
It's hard to describe the experience at Sakura. The place is very small and informal for a sushi joint -- far more like a Yakatori than the traditional sit-down sushi experience we generally get here in the states.
Also, there is just one chef, so it can take a little while to get your order. The chef, however, is charming and banters with the customers. Real plusses: beautiful fresh fish, the spicy tuna is very good, excellent chirashi selection.
Go with an open mind and prepared to enjoy a laid back sushi experience and I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
Sushi is mediocre at best, service is always as fast as the chef can go, so take a GOOD look at how many people are waiting, and ask yourself, am i that hungry? We waited so long one time, we got our money back and ate at Ajiehja
on chamber st.
Great sushi, not so friendly cashier!!!: Been there many times but almost everytime, the chick at the register seems like she has a chip on her shoulder or better yet an attitude! Hey babe, no one is making you work there so if you don't like it there, QUIT!
I agree with rest about their sushi though..awesome! Specially their spicy california rolls!
Enjoy!
