    Went for a dinner, and looked forward to good country food. based on the good reviews here. No complaints on service or food quality and got free refills for my drink.

    Just disappointed and little surprised how small the portions were. I ordered the sunday chicken special and read 2 chicken breast with 2 sides.

    Each breast piece was fried crunchy coated and tasted good, but each was smaller than my palm, the macaroni/cheese was gone in 3 bites. This was served on a 12" plate, and the food looked so small and alone with all that room on it. The steak fries was in it's own little bowl, maybe that's why that plate looked so empty.

    So I did leave still little hungry even after eating the biscuit/muffins too and desert. Had to eat a sandwich later, I guess, I'm a piggy eater too .

    We are never disappointed here. Yes it's true that sometimes service is slower than other places, but they are truly busy! and they try their best. Besides, everything is worth the wait! From the chicken fried steak and okra to their chicken and noodles to those wonderful vidalia onion rings! Their Creamy potato soup is the best! and those biscuits with sawmill gravy, yum! On a cold winter day it is so nice to sit by the big fireplace as you smell the wood burning and the bacon and other things cooking!

    Outstanding in every way!: The food, the service, the atmosphere...awesome! Enjoy the fireplace in the wintertime! The country store is as great as the restaurant. Don't forget the biscuits and cornbread!
