They don't take reservations and I will not wait at the front door for 45 minutes to be seated. Consequently, I have never been able to eat there. I gave up trying after 3 or 4 attempts.
I visited KC Prime while working on a project from Boston. I'm not sure how my experience was so vastly different than everyone else's, but I genuinely thought KC Prime was average at best. I sat at the bar and the bar tender was very attentive, although not very bright. I had to repeat myself several times before he understood what I was saying, and I don't studer or have an accent.
I had a pretty simple meal; glass of wine, a salad, and a porterhouse steak with a baked potato.
The thing to remember is that when I ordered my steak I asked for it Medium Rare. I will admit a porterhouse is tough to get right because the filet always seems to cook much quicker. That is why I specifically asked that the steak be on the rare side, but the bartender assured me the cook was good. As I expected the filet was medium and the strip was medium rare. I sincerely hate to complain, but I am honest, so I told the bartender the steak was overdone, and that I would eat it anyway. The bartender graciously said "no", and took it back to the kitchen. About 5 minutes later the manager was breathing down my neck with the plated steak in his hand with the strip side cut down the middle asking me (his tone was telling me) if it was medium rare enough for me. I didn't feel like arguing so I said sure, and ate about 3/4 of the mediocre grade porterhouse on my plate. At least the baked potato and wine were good.
So here's to you douche bag manager. The guy who belts out orders across the dinning room, berate staff members for all to see, and breaths down peoples necks like they owe you something. I'm sure the establishment would be much better off without you. I don't care if the steak I sent back was raw, in the restaurant business your customer is king, and the sooner you realize that the sooner you'll stop being second rate.
In conclusion:
Food was average at best
Service was awful
Price was to high for the quality of food
Good Food: Good food but a bit pricey.

I just called and made reservations for dinner next Saturday. Actually, I've made reservations here every time I go.....which is generally 6 or 7 times a year. I've made reservations for groups as small as 2 and as large as 12 and have never had to wait.
