I went to the pre-owned car department today for a test drive,
when I asked how much my 95 mitsubishi Galant is worth for a trade in. I took good care of the car, most of the stuff under the hood was brand new.
The sales manager Ray insulted me by saying that the car is not even worth the time for him to check out the carfax report. He said he will take the car for $100 bucks nothing more because the car is too old and the price is "not even in the book". He said all these without even taking a look at my vehicle. And FYI, the KBB tmv for this car is $1500. Now I am not asking for that price firm, but 100 bucks?! it's a humiliation!
It is just purely unprofessional, if he doesn't think I can afford the car, he can just say it when I am not around, he doesn't have to insult me in front of all the people.
If you are going there to get a car, beware, they don't welcome recent college grads,or any low income buyers for that matters, in their shop. Trust me, they will make you will feel it.
