| About: | Makeda is an Ethiopian restaurant. Customers rate the experience as exceptional. The service is pleasant, the ambiance is unique; there's a dimly lit, multi-tiered, spacious, elegant, and romantic dining room, with music in the background. There's a stage for weekend live music. A collection of tribal masks on sale next door is visible through the glass. You eat communally using a flat bread to pick up the subtly spiced foods, from vegetarian to lamb. |

I found the experience horrible. As my party of four were finishing our meals, which took a while to be served, were were asked to move to the bar. The waitress informed us that there was another reservation waiting for the table, so would have to move to the bar if we wanted desert. Being informed that my reservation was not as important as the next one and that we would have to leave our reserved table, was humiliating. I am very disappointed. Asked to leave after spending $120 on food. I still have the receipt.
Fabulous food. OK service. Terribly high prices. The price range listed is not accurate. I think the cheapest "entree" I saw was $16 for a veggie dish, going up to $25 or so.
What a disappointment. Makedaâs is selling $25 gift certificates on restaurant.com for $10. I thought this would be an excellent way to try out a new cuisine. Too bad they do not accept their own gift certificates. Not a good way to win customers.
