User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsVery disappointing- service was nearly non-existent. We ate here 8/1/08, and got off to a good start. The bread & tapenade was excellent, and our hummus appetizer was very good. Our entrees (the mixed sampler and paella) were not very flavorful, and as the night wore on, we had no follow-up service from our waiter. The creme brulee was absolutely the worst we've ever tasted. After we waited 30 minutes to ask for our check (I needed to go ask the host for our check, our waiter was nowhere to be found). Not worth the $116, or nearly 2.5 hrs of time invested.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI LOVE THIS PLACE!!! This is hands down the best romantic vegetarian food in the city! They have an amazing bio-dynamic wine list that I've never seen! fresh tasting ingredients! Some of the tastiest cocktails, my girlfriends and I love it hear on the weekend! Awesome place!
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI have eaten at Counter a few times. While I find the food quite tasty, I don't feel that it is worth the price. That said, however, I will continue to support the restaurant because of their delicious wine selection, knowledgeable staff, and their rooftop garden, from which they use herbs and vegetables. The service was excellent both times I was there, and on top of that I believe that each time I had a server who was new to the restaurant and still I was impressed. I'll just have to save up for a bit before I venture there again.
