My experience here was great. (Monday, May 26,2008)

All the tables were taken on the outside so we were seated inside the first room, across from the bar.

I immediately noticed on entry, how clean and fresh the place looked and smelled. One could not help wondering if there was indeed a kitchen somewhere.

We had a pretty, young waitress who was very attentive and helpful, so I felt we were off to a good start.

My Hoegaarten from the tap, arrived just cold enough and refreshing.
The salads were pleasingly fresh and the house dressing was not salty, as many restaurants have a tendency to do.

I tasted my friend's tomato, baked in pastry with cheese and that was also great.
Our fish and chips were absolutely delicious. The presentation in a newspaper boat, added authenticity and I was delighted. (Sorry guys but I used most of that Heinz malt vinegar ;-)

We were full after the appetiser and entree but we just had to stuff our faces with dessert.
We had a special of fresh strawberries on a crispy pastry with cream and almonds. I am sure there was something else on it, just can't think of it now.
The apple pie with an apricot puree and cream was equally good.

There was no space for coffee or tea and I really considered walking back to Brooklyn...lol.

Oh yes, we thought the meal was well worth the price and did not think it was expensive.

Thanks for a wonderful experience Telephone Bar and Grill. I will be back with more friends and family as often as I can.

PS: I own and operate a restaurant of my own and I am quite critical of food and service.
