Nuyorican Poets Cafe Business Overview
Edit InfoCompany Information: Dedicated to the art community and situated in Manhattan's Lower East Side, Nuyorican Poet's Cafe is anon-profit organization known for hosting the freshest art shows. The venue nurtures artists and exhibits, along with a variety of artistic works. The weekly Poetry Slams are hugely successful and have also popularized poetry. They conduct mock epic contests which are judged by people selected at random from the audience. They even have a Theater Program which has received over 30 Audelco Awards. For the music lovers there is a Latin Jazz Night as well as Hip Hop nights which are full of fun with excellent music to get one going. Besides all of this, the Cafe also hosts competitions where poets and individual people can test their skills. What is special about this place is the Fifth Night Series where over 40 films from screenplay readings have been produced.

Get there early though, otherwise you may end up standing off to the side of the room. It is also a great place to take a few friends or a loved one due to the intimate nature of the settting. Enjoy!
